WHAT ROMANTIC NOVELS DO TO ME

I am not a bookworm. Despite whatever people assume about  being a law practitioner and a bookworm, where it seems, that those two words linked together; I am none of those. I only read simple stuff. I only read when my work requires me to. I don't read books or magazines for fun or for the love of it. I don't read very much. I don't even read newspaper. And for one, I simply avoid romantic novels.

Nonetheless, many weeks ago, I downloaded full series of Twilight novels on my phone. I read on a few pages and got hooked up. Page by page, I was simply swarmed in the world of Bella Swan (the main character of Twilight, if you don't know). I started to feel her every emotion and began to visualize everything about her life from the novel. I went deeper and deeper and finally I fell in love with Jacob Black (who was deeply in love with Bella, but Bella only regarded him as her best friend and chose Edward instead. Owwhh..what a twisted love story).

I was in love with Jacob Black that I even read all the 4 books for more than three times and repeat my favourite parts over and over again. I was so in love with Jacob Black and I also began to fall for Taylor Lautner who plays Jacob Black in the Twilight movies. And now Taylor Lautner face become the wallpaper of my handphone.

So, you see, that was the reason I avoid reading romantic novels. I will be emotionally involved with the story and the characters and it would take some time for me to detach. I would live in a daydream for a few weeks before I can bend down and touch the reality again. I avoid reading romantic novels because it will make real life feel so dull and uninteresting.

So...weeks after that, I seemed to get over Bella Swan and Jacob Black (not Taylor Lautner though) and my dear friend, opened up to me via her dropbox e-book novels from Judith McNaught, John Grisham and a few others. The last time I read Judith McNaught was many many years ago, during my college days. But seeing her novels in the dropbox, my heart go all swooning. I used to love Judith McNaught's...

And there I go again...page after page...novel after novel.....and I went into the imaginary world of "everlasting love" and "happy ever after".....  [sigh]

It has been a few days now. I started to cool off and stopped daydreaming. I will not read Judith McNaught's ever again...not??  [you bet!! Ahaks!!]

THE SHOPAHOLICS

It all started back in the year 2000....I pi melawat close friend masa kat TKC dulu...Madinatul Munarwarah, confinement her first son kat rumah nenek dia di Keramat. She posed me the first ever shopaholic novel to me...biasalah the first thing attracts me was its cover.....taraaa

masa tu memang this type of cover quite new in its arena...i.e striking color...freehand artist....quite interesting....si Dina yang tengah berpantang tu beria-ia suruh I baca cerita ni....she can quote almost all hilarious lines in the book...honestly masa tu I dah put a side hobi baca novel ni....but believe it or not after a few pages....yes she was rite about this book...you will instantly hooked...the best thing....ha ha ha the author really done a great job in describing the character....Ms Rebecca Bloomwood is definitely part of all those shopaholics outside there....aku pun macam tu....feeling great when shopping and blah blah blah...have all the stupid reason for not having one item....well I fall in love instantly with the Shophalics
so....my next collection are all these thereafter

I did not stop just there.....the latest issues like the Twenties Girl....I have got your number....Mini Shopaholic really make you forget who you are....it has successfully brings you inside their fantasy...emmm  a good rehab...rejuvenate....fresh and vibrant
It has been past twelve years...rupanya the author have anor successful set of fictions with anor pseudonym Madeleine Wickham....alamak I memang start gila baca novel balik lepas tu....

Especially this one...the plot is so simple...plain but what so interesting about it, it all happen in normal life....not created fiction as you know you are one of the character...

Well...I can read all day thru during confinement without feeling a bit boring. I appreciate all those wonderful writer who managed to describe who you are indirectly in their works and give an option to your life on how to move on....simply .....as not to mention creatively.
